Let’s Dig Into Adenowo’s Background
In a time where female education wasn’t a priority, she was the aberration. At the age of 16, she followed her dreams and enrolled to study Architecture at the University of Ife, where she also completed her postgraduate studies, gaining an MSc (with Distinction) in Architecture.
Due to her passion, she found a mentor, someone who gave her a chance to pursue her dream as a Designer. At 25, when she felt she was ready, she started her own Architecture & Interior Design firm. A firm that feeds of the energy of clients – to do anything for clients & to make sure that their buildings come out the way they should.
She is driven to make an impact. As quoted in CNN African Voices Changemakers piece on her, “…it would be a dream come true if I have the opportunity to design a building that would define Nigeria’s identity. The way you see the Tour d’Eiffel and you think Paris, the Empire State Building and you think New York.”
Olajumoke Adenowo’s Works
Her achievements might look easy or hard, depending on how you look at them. But, I assure you, it’s not how you see it.
Like Mrs. Adenowo, We need to have a mission. We need to associate with the right bodies that’d help us achieve our goals. Without zeal and passion, we cannot achieve our dreams. We need to be brave enough to take risks and start whatever agenda we’d like to start. We need to acquire skills to push our dreams.
She is Africa’s “Starchitect”. With over 30 years of experience in Architectural practice and designed and executed over 70 buildings for clients such as Coca-Cola, Nigerian Stock Exchange, etc. In all honesty, she is a model that should be followed by both men and women who want to achieve Greatness.
